Natural Rubber is obtained from rubber trees as Latex and Cup lump/Field coagulam. Latex is processed into Sheet Rubber (RSS grades & unsmoked sheet) and Preserved Latex Concentrates. Field coagulam/Cup lump is used as raw material for processing Technically Specified Rubber (TSR).
In India, TSR is processed and marketed with BIS specifications (IS4588 - 1986) and is termed as Indian Standard Natural Rubber (ISNR). In other rubber producing countries it is termed as Standard Malaysian Rubber (SMR), Standard Indonesian Rubber (SIR), Standard Vietnam Rubber (SVR), Standard Thai Rubber (STR) etc.
ISNR is a general purpose rubber which is graded by precise technical standards and not by visual characteristics. It has excellent processing characteristics and good physical properties and is used for making tyres, tubes, conveyor belts and various other rubber products.
